Minimum-mirror-area single-stage solar concentrators

Abstract
A means of generating a concentrating mirror of minimum size for a given average flux-concentration output is outlined. The method is useful for acceptance angles typical of those required for tilting and tracking solar concentrators and can result in substantial cost savings when expensive mirrors (i.e., glass) are used. Comparisons are made with compound parabolic concentrators.Keywords
