Abstract
Measurements were made of the rate at which typists keyed two-letter sequences when typing continuous material at the overall rate of 80 words per minute. The results were used to estimate the maximum output rate which should be allowed for in the design of a machine having a typewriter keyboard as an input source if the operator is to have an unpaced task. Keywords
