Abstract
The recollection micropuncture technique was used to evaluate the influence of vasopressin on Na reabsorption in the proximal tubule of the dog kidney. There was no measurable change in the tubule fluid-to-plasma ratio (TF/P) of inulin when water diuresis was interrupted by vasopressin infusion. In addition, the infusion of 2.5% glucose in water in the amount of 50 ml/kg resulted in no detectable change in TF/P ratios. These results indicate that neither vasopressin nor infusion of an amount of hypotonic fluid sufficient to produce a water diuresis has a measurable influence on Na reabsorption in the proximal tubule of the dog kidney. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
