Abstract
Summary By the use of a sensitive technique, rheumatoid factors can often be demonstrated. The LE cell factor and other auto-antibodies can occasionally be found in the absence of clinical eivdence of lupus erythematosus disseminatus. Hypergamma-globulinemia is not uncommon. The complement values in the serum are normal, but it is possible that conglutinin tests might reveal complement binding in vivo. In active cases of the disease, a positive CRP can be shown. Serological signs of a previous infection with hemolytic streptococci or staphylococci, for example, may be found.
