Abstract
During preparatory steps of data for automatic classification routines, the amount of information contained by the character distribution is reduced by standardization of the character values. This information can be regained through special weighting schemes of standardized character values. Two weight coefficients derived from decomposition of the frequency distributions of the characters are proposed. Keywords
