Abstract
A violent and uniformly fatal poliomyelitis infection can be induced in the hamster by the intraperit. route following treatment with cortisone. The disease is accompanied by a pronounced viremia apparently due to the multiplication of the virus outside of the central nervous system under these conditions. No clinical infection has been observed in non-treated hamsters thus inoculated, and no disease was produced following intraperit. inoculation of the virus into the hamsters receiving ACTH.Keywords
