Abstract
Unsuccessful attempts to use the Ag-AgCl electrode for the potentiometric detn. of chloride in biological fluids are described. This electrode can be used for the rapid and accurate detn. of chloride in simple non-biological fluids. A simple calomel half-cell suitable for this purpose is described. The poisoning effect on the electrode of various substances was investigated. The effect of glycine on the electrode was also investigated.
