Abstract
The histological difference between the adrenals of cf and 9 mice has been investigated and its development traced. Well-marked normal changes are described in the cortex of the female gland. They show no correlation with the estrous cycle in the unmated animal. Pregnancy accelerates these normal changes, but has no specific effect on the structure of the gland. In the castrated d71 an adrenal of the 9 type develops. Ovariotomy has no effect on the adrenal. Double adrenalectomy was performed on a number of c? and 9 mice which bred normally after the operation. The histology of the mouse adrenals is discussed and the glands are compared with those of man and other mammals. This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
