Abstract
In order to study the factors effecting growth of human cancer of the prostate gland and the biological properties of such transplants, adeno-carcinomatous tissue from 3 patients were transplanted into the anterior chamber of the eye of guinea pigs. At varying intervals after transplantation, testosterone propionate was given by intramuscular inj. The total dosage in the 3 series varied between 41.25 mg. within 30 days to 92.5 mg. over a period of 82 days. The transplant could not be maintained; androgen treatment prolonged the survival of the transplants as compared to the controls.
