Abstract
Current Flame Retardant systems generally tend to be less than perfect, which is also true for the melamine based flame retardants. This has to do with their mode of action, their physical and chemical properties, compatibility issues and so forth. Out of this situation a number of various systems has been developed over the years. Due to their relative ease of application, the versatile halogenated flame-retardants have been dominating this business for a long time.
