Testing of food contact materials in the Netherlands

Abstract
An outline is presented of food contact materials testing as practised with the Center of Expertise of the Food Inspection Services’ organization of the Netherlands. Attention is focused on a new approach for screening food contact materials for the necessity of performing specific migration. In this approach the global migration determination no longer has any function. The procedure is explained and some results are discussed.
