Abstract
We discuss possible anisotropic and inhomogeneous phases in the early Universe at relatively late epochs corresponding to the temperatures 1 GeV –10 TeV . The anisotropy and inhomogeneity of the energy-momentum tensor at the horizon scale gives rise to the generation of a stochastic gravitational wave background. It is shown that the present amplitudes and frequencies of this background may be well within the access of planned gravitational wave detectors. Keywords
