Abstract
Administered a verbal fluency task and a WAIS to two groups of Ss (one that ranged from 20 to 59 years and the other from 60 to 94 years). In the younger group there were no significant differences in verbal fluency across three IQ or across four decade age ranges. In the older group there were no significant differences across the four decade age ranges, but there were significant differences across the three IQ ranges. A comparison across the three IQ ranges of a ratio of easy letters with many associations to hard letters with few associations was not significant for either group, which suggests that IQ did not interact with task difficulty. Keywords
