Abstract
A new transmission line based theory is developed to study symmetric/asymmetric microstrip ring resonators. The selective splitting of odd modes in certain asymmetric structures can be used to realise bandpass filters. The theory predicts the characteristics of these resonators quite accurately. Keywords
