Abstract
The relationship of Dalbulus maidis (Delong & Walcott), vector numbers, and corn plant age at inoculation with the corn stunt disease agent (CSA) to disease severity were investigated in a field cage and greenhouse. Plant age at inoculation with the CSA had more effect on corn stunt disease severity than that of leafhopper vector numbers. Plant height was reduced, incubation of the disease agent in the plants was shorter, and yield was less in plants inoculated at each earlier stage of development or with an increase in vector numbers. Keywords
