Abstract
The lab portion of the introductory computer science course at Wartburg College is described. These two-hour time blocks are designed to facilitate a high degree of student involvement through intensive practice in the development of algorithms and the application of key programming concepts. Several positive outcomes of the laboratory approach are delineated and examples of specific lab sessions are provided. Keywords
