Stress–Strain relationships for some unreinforced plastics

Abstract
The application of the plane strain compression test for determining both the permanent and total deformation curves for plastics is described. The effects of geometry and friction are discussed in detail. A method of analysis for large strain, non-linear problems using equivalent stress-strain curves is proposed together with examples of applications and the calculation of maximum loads and the instability of such systems. A brief description of varying stress ratio problems is also given.
