Abstract
The popularity of survey methods in educational research has been increasingly accompanied by problems of nonresponse bias produced by small proportions of responses or returns. This paper considers a number of rational and empirical procedures, including some of their advantages and shortcomings, for dealing with the problem of nonresponse or low return rates in surveys. Keywords
