Abstract
Leptospira icterohemorrhagiae, L. autumnalis, L. bataviae, L. pomona, L. mitis, L. hyos, L. bovis, and L. canicola were examined by electron microscopy. Shadowing with chromium precluded study of internal structure. Cell diameters were approx. 0.1[mu]. Lengths varied from 6[mu] to more than 15[mu]. An axial filament, entwined uniformly along the central cell mass, was demonstrated in each leptospiral strain examined. Keywords
