Abstract
A study was conducted using 218 individuals who voluntarily left positions in large firms to start new business ventures. Using self-reports to a questionnaire at three and five year intervals, results appear to lend support to the distinction between entrepreneur and small business owner, and reinforces the importance of general business skills. Keywords
