Abstract
Graphic recording of heart sounds and murmurs of 200 patients with organic heart disease was studied independently of their clinical records. Cardiophonography cannot replace the trained ear. It is, however, of great aid in detecting and placing extra heart sounds, when they occur, in their exact position in the heart cycle and is of inestimable value in the study of gallop rhythm, and in training acuity for auscultation.
