Abstract
Developments in permanent magnet materials such as alnicos, rare-earth cobalts and ferrites have brought in their wake new interest in their application to the design of electrical machinery, torque couplers, lifting magnets, and other electromechanical devices. In all these cases, the magnetic field provides the medium for energy conversion. The accurate computation of the magnetic field distribution is essential for realistic performance prediction at the design stage. Keywords
