Abstract
A sample of 81 patients was studied to determine what type of patient would be successful on the Ocusert; to see if pressure control was similar with the Ocusert as with drops; and to see if the advantages were obvious to the patients. Of the patients, 56% could wear the unit successfully (after 3 mo. of study). The major reasons for discontinuing the Ocusert were discomfort and retention, but age was also a significant factor to success. The most critical period of adjustment was the first 2 wk. Of the group, 46% stayed in the same pressure range, 30% moved to a lower pressure range and 24% moved to a higher category of intraocular pressure. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
