POSITIVE "BRAIN" SCANS IN FIBROUS DYSPLASIA AND OTHER LESIONS OF THE SKULL

Abstract
Positive "brain" scans have been obtained in a number of benign and malignant lesions of the bony calvaria utilizing Tc99m as the scanning agent. The vascularity of these processes may account for the uptake of Tc99m. It is important therefore to always closely correlate the roentgenographic examination of the skull with the brain scan.
