Abstract

Injections of estrogenic hormone into a rabbit in the latter part of pregnancy caused delay in parturition. When the injs. were continuous the fetuses remained in utero. They were dead and found to be necrotic by the 52d day. In the last third of pregnancy 1-2 injns. produced premature delivery. In the former case placentas are injured and also the foetuses but the corpora are maintained by the estrogen and the foetuses are retained in utero.
