Abstract
A comparison was made of the immunogenicity of "cord factor," wax D, PMKo, typhoid lipo- polysaccharide, defatted vaccine, and BCG. It was shown that defatted vaccine and BCG were the only substances which were capable of immunizing guinea pigs against experimental tuberculous infection. The problem of bacterial residues in purified lipids of mycobacteria is discussed. Keywords
