Abstract
Chromatographic material was delivered into fused silica capillary columns mainly by the use of sedimentation by gravity. After sedimentation of the packing material, the columns were pressurized at 8000 psi and evaluated for capillary electrochromatography (CEC). The capillary columns were tested using a commercially available capillary electrophoresis unit. Under typical CEC conditions, the capillary columns packed by gravity showed reduced plate heights below 2 with a reproducibility of less than 9% RSD.Keywords
