Abstract

The tensor analyzing power

A_{yy}

of

{}^{4}{He} (d, d) {}^{4}{He}

has been calibrated absolutely at

θ_{lab} = 55^{\circ}

,

E = 7.07

MeV using the reaction

{}^{16}O (d, α_{1}) {}^{14}N^{*} (2.31)

. A value of

A_{yy} = - 1.066 \pm 0.034

was obtained.
