Abstract
It has been assumed in recent research that the distribution of units on conveyors is a stationary Bernoulli distribution. This paper presents a technique which is used to test the validity of this assumption. The system was simulated using the GPSS 111 language. A statistical run test is used to test the Bernoulli assumption. From the results of this study, the general assumption that the distribution of units on the conveyor is stationary Bernoulli cannot be supported. Keywords
