Abstract
Measurements have been made on the hyperfine structure of 32 lines in the spectrum of CbI. Analysis of these structures supports the previously reported spin value of 4½ units for the nucleus and yields 32 hyperfine interval factors. These data, when used in conjunction with semi-empirical formulas for the coupling between the nucleus and an electron in the configuration , lead to values for the nuclear -factor and nuclear magnetic moment of 1.18 and 5.3 nuclear magnetons, respectively, for stable . No nuclear electric quadrupole moment is detected.
