Abstract
In recent years various power system failures have resulted in major power failures (black-outs). A modern system of turbine control can do much to avoid the serious results of such failures. Apart from a rapid system of speed or load-frequency control, it requires certain supplementary elements, such as HP and LP bypass and acceleration limiter. With such a control system it is possible to contend with the most difficult of all transients, i.e. load shedding to house load. Keywords
