Abstract
SUMMARY At the « Abri du Facteur » (Dordogne) a Wild Ox radius was found in the Upper Perigordian layers, near the carving of a female figure (« Venus de Tursac ») discovered in 1959. By its articular surfaces, its crests and lines of muscular insertion, this bone is characteristic of Bos primigenius. Bos and Bison did not live in the same biotope, also the discrimination between the first and the second is very important. Oftentimes, they are associated in the French Paleolithic horizons but, in some few cases only, it is possible to know the climatic conditions which prevailed during the deposits formation.Bouchud Jean.
