Abstract
We report precision measurements of the heat capacity of EuS over the temperature range K, with particular emphasis on the region near the Curie temperature K. Our data yield and for the exponents and the amplitude ratio of the specific heat. These results agree with those obtained previously for the isotropic antiferromagnet RbMn, and with theoretical predictions. The previously reported anomalous behavior of EuO is discussed in terms of effects associated with crossover from isotropic shortrange force to dipolar behavior.
