Abstract
When an electromagnetic wave propagates in a turbulent, inhomogeneous plasma, interactions of the waves with the random irregularities in the electron density will modify the field structure of the wave. The effects of multiple scattering have been taken into account in deriving equations for the coherent wave field. Numerical examples are presented to indicate the change in the field distribution and the decrease in the amplification factor due to multiple scattering. Generalization of the results to more complicated situations is discussed. Keywords
