Abstract
Two patients with multiple myeloma developed cutaneous myeloma tumors. Well-differentiated myeloma cells characterized the tumors of the 1st case; those of the 2nd case were anaplastic, resembling reticulum cell sarcoma. The rarity of such cutaneous tumors is noted in a review of the literature. A morphologically less differentiated group of myeloma patients is apparent. Whether their anaplastic tumors are myeloma or a new malignancy is discussed. Bone marrow films are considered critical to this differentiation.
