Abstract
Metabolic Functions of Vitamin B12 Current knowledge of the metabolic functions of vitamin B12 will be outlined here in a manner calculated to stress the limitations of the evidence. A cursory examination of the relevant literature reveals that vitamin B12 has been implicated in every known metabolic system and a good number of unknown ones. To emphasize the importance of skepticism in such inquiries, the acceptable evidence is presented in three progressively less convincing categories:Enzyme reactions whose requirement for vitamin B12 or its coenzyme form (or forms) has been established in purified cell-free preparations.Cell-free . . .Keywords
