Abstract
New measurements of the ferromagnetic saturation magnetization of nickel-rich binary alloys containing dissolved Al, Si, Sb or Ge are reported, and previous work on NiZn and NiSn alloys is re-assessed. It is shown that electrons are transferred from the solute atoms to the 3d band of nickel at rates lower than the maximum available valenciea in every case. Keywords
