Abstract
The artic-ulatory diadochokinetic rate of 17 Parklnsonian patients was compared with that of normal age-matched controls. The Parkin-sonlan group showed impairment in the rapid movements of the tongue, the lips, and the vocal folds, along with imprecise production of plosive consonants and discoordination of phonatory and articulatory activity. Articulatory diadochokinesis showed the highest correlation with speech adequacy of any of the physiological indices investigated. Keywords
