Abstract
We study suspensions of metallic spheres randomly distributed in an insulating matrix. The effective dielectric constant of such a system is given by a Bergman representation. The positive spectral density in this representation is characteristic of the geometry and is directly related to the optical-absorption spectrum. We study the spectral density on the basis of a recently derived expression for the effective dielectric constant. Keywords
