Abstract
The asymmetry produced by a beam of 45-MeV protons incident upon targets of beryllium, carbon, aluminum, vanadium, and rhodium has been measured utilizing the polarized proton beam of the U.C.L.A. sector-focused cyclotron. The development of the polarized beam is discussed, with emphasis upon the provision for an independent calibration of the polarization of the beam. The techniques used in the polarization measurements are given in detail, and the data are compared with previous results at similar energies. Keywords
