Abstract
Analysis of the factors controlling the secretion of a hormone such as aldosterone may be aided by teleologic reasoning and by trying to evaluate known phenomena in terms of their positions in a postulated cybernetic program. More specifically, one should consider the biologic actions of the hormone, the purposes that they subserve to the organism as a whole, and how the fulfillments of these actions work (i.e., feedback) to turn off continuing secretion of the hormone.Aldosterone, secreted exclusively by the glomerulosa zone of the adrenal cortex, plays the major part in simultaneously regulating the amount and probably the distribution . . .Keywords
