Abstract
Excess expansion coefficient data on anomalies associated with Mn concentrations up to approximately 7 at.% are reported for both Cu and Ag hosts. For alloys with 0.55 at.%, 1.2 at.% and 2.2 at.% Mn in Cu a temperature-independent magnetic Gruneisen parameter gamma m is found by comparison with specific heat data from 4-25K, yielding gamma m=2.7, 3.1 and 3.2 respectively. For Ag-1.0 at.% Mn a value of 3.7 is tentatively ascribed to gamma m.Keywords
