Concentrations of trimethoprim and sulphamethoxazole in aqueous humour and plasma from regimens of co-trimoxazole in man

Abstract
Aqueous humour was sampled simultaneously with plasma from patients under going cataract surgery. All the patients had taken co-trimoxazole for various periods ending at various intervals before operation. The samples were assayed for trimethoprim and sulphamethoxazole and concentration data for 57 patients are presented. The intraocular concentrations can be predicted from a regimen if the plasma concentrations are known or predictable.
