S34(p,t)S32reaction

Abstract
Angular distributions of the S34(p,t)S32 reaction at Ep=40 MeV have been measured for states in S32 up to an excitation energy of 11 MeV. Assignments of the L transfers on the basis of the characteristic shapes of the angular distributions yield several new spin and parity assignments for states in S32. Transitions to several unnatural parity states in S32 were observed with a cross section of about 5 μb/sr. For transitions to the natural parity states distorted-wave analyses based on current shell-model wave functions were performed and compared with the experimental differential cross sections.
