C-Reactive Protein in Cerebrospinal Fluid

Abstract
In 63 patients with symptoms of CNS involvement, serum and CSF samples were used to investigate C-reactive protein (CRP) by double immunodiffusion. CRP was detected in 28 sera but was never found in CSF. The finding by applying this technique, of CRP only in the serum was not useful for the diagnosis of CNS diseasse. The content and fate of CRP in CSF must be approached with more sensitive methods.
