Observations reported in the literature support this conclusion. The appearance of warts in pruritic dermatoses, their occurrence in linear scratch marks, their simultaneous presence in members of the same household and their occurrence in physicians following injuries contracted in connection with their removal had long suggested the inoculability of warts.
