Abstract
Heptakis(6-S-alkyl-6-thio)-cyclomaltoheptaoses (where alkyl is a C2, C4, C10, C16 and C18 unit) have been synthesised via heptakis(6-bromo-6-deoxy)-cyclomaltoheptaose and shown to form thermotropic liquid crystals.Keywords
