Abstract
Rats immunized with angiotensin complexed to rat albumin with carbodiimide have a greatly reduced blood pressure response to synthetic and native rat angiotensin but retain normal vascular responsiveness to norepinephrine. Both whole plasma and purified [gamma]-globulin from immunized animals are capable of neutralizing the hypertensive effect of synthetic angiotensin with which they are incubated in vitro. These results strongly suggest the biologic effectiveness of immunization to angiotensin in the rat.
