Abstract
There has been growing confidence in the ability of therapeutic endoscopy to control bleeding from the [human] upper gastrointestinal tract. Recently pubished data on this topic is reviewed, concentrating on sclerotherapy for variceal bleeding, laser photocoagulation and electrocoagulation for bleeding peptic ulcers, with particular emphasis on the results of published controlled trials which are essential for demonstration of clinical benefit. This publication has 19 references indexed in Scilit:
