Abstract
An E.P.R. study of small particles of silver in a benzene matrix has been performed between 8 K and 190 K. For particle sizes sufficiently small to exhibit the quantum size-effect (diameters ∼ 10 A) we show that the susceptibility obeys a Curie-like law. This result is in agreement with theoretical predictions, and an estimate of the mean level spacing near the Fermi level has been deducedKeywords
